2-Deep Rule - Expectations and Tips & Tricks!
Goal – safe and comfortable dressing room environment with supervision of all players
- Supervision by volunteers includes:
- No cellphones or cameras in the Dressing Room
- Timing – confirm timing with head coach:
- Please be at the rink 45 minutes in advance for games
- Please be at the rink 30 minutes in advance for practices
- Please be at the Dressing Room Door after games when the coaches leave after the post-game speech
- Please remain as a pair and stay until the last player leaves
- Eyes should to be in front watching the room
- Please do not turn your back
- Players should go outside the dressing room to the coach/mom/dad to get skates tied and untied
- Keep the Door Unlocked
- Doors are only locked when we are on the ice
- Players with a higher level of concern on exposure should move to the other side of the door in the room
- Time checks – keep the players on pace to be ready with their helmets on for the pre-game speech with 5-10 minutes (depends on coach’s request)
- As dressing room supervisor, it’s not the time to discuss game play with the players after the game (leave that to the coach), or with your kid after the game (save it for the car ride ☺)
- Anything beyond supervision like medical advice should not be provided, if you have a medical background be sure the parent is with the player
- Any point to be made to a player about behaving in the room beyond a one liner should be brought to the Head Coach to address with the player/parent
