About Us
The Ottawa Valley Silver Seven Hockey Club hosts the District 4 program for Tier 1 and Tier 2 at various levels.
The OVSS hockey club was formed when a group of hockey parents from Stittsville and Richmond in 2005-2006 requested District 4 offer a competitive “A” program and put forth a plan on how it could be accomplished.
Up to the 2005-2006 season, only 3 of the 7 associations were offering competitive “A” hockey:
RAMS (Stittsville MHA & Richmond Munster MHA)
Osgoode Rideau MHA (known as the Osgoode Rideau Senators); this program accepted imports from the participating associations in District 4
In a collaboration of the 7 participating associations in District 4, the Presidents agreed to offer a Tier 2 program for all players and provided the necessary ice contracts to benefit the program.
The OVSS logo of the crown with 7 points, represents the 7 participating associations.
The colors for the club were selected to mirror the Los Angeles Kings (Black, White & Silver) so as to remain neutral across the District and not interfere with any other existing club’s colors.
In 2006-2007, the inaugural year of the Ottawa Valley Silver Seven Hockey Club was introduced with one of its founders as President – Mike Wark.
