The Ottawa Valley Silver Seven is pleased to announce the Major Midget program mandate and guidelines for the 2014-2015 season.
Mandate:
- The expectation of our major Midget team is for the players to be ambassadors of our tremendous Silver Seven program.
- Players will work hard game in and game out while maintaining a healthy school/hockey life balance.
- Players will enjoy playing hockey for the love of it……at the competitive AA level.
Guidelines:
In order to achieve the mandate above, the following guidelines will be adhered to:
- Team make up: 16 skaters; 2 goalies
- Practices will be held either Wednesday or Saturday nights (2 days TBC)
- Home games will be held either Wednesday or Saturday night (2 days TBC)
- Team norms such as dress code and pre-game arrival will be relaxed and finalized upon the formation of the team
- School work and exam time will be treated as a top priority and ice time/practices will be adjusted accordingly
- There will be a reduced cost due to less practice ice required - Reduced fee = $1900 to OVSS and a max of $500 in team fees
- Tournaments: a maximum of 2 local and one away; tournaments during exams and Christmas will be avoided
Five Year graduates in good standing from the OVSS program with a year in Midget shall receive a graduate memento - custom engraved Silver Seven watch.

Tryout Dates/Times - check in at 7:45 PM for Session #1 for jersey distribution/payment:
Sat Sept 20 - 8:30 -10:30pm, Kinburn
Wed Sep 24 - 9 pm - 10:30 pm - Kinburn - Exhibition Game vs the Grads
Fri Sep 26 - 9 pm - 10:30 pm - Kinburn - Exhibition Game vs the Aces
Sat Sept 27 - 8:30 -10:30pm, Kinburn *May be practice. |
Of Important Note:
Dressing Rooms: For Minor Atom to Minor Peewee, parents/guardians are welcome to help their player tie their skates, and then we ask they leave the dressing room. S7 provides dressing room monitors with appropriate certification.
Hydration: Players should provide their own labeled water bottle for all tryout sessions.
Jerseys: Silver Seven tryout jerseys will be provided upon registration. All other equipment is the responsibility of the individual player.
Parent Information Session: There will be a parent information session hosted for each level prior to the final tryout; all players are expected to have one parent/guardian in attendance.
