On December 30th 2010 the Ottawa Valley Silver Seven white began the Bell Capital Cup. There first game was against a home team the Ottawa Sting. They won 2-0. There next two games would be against away teams Jokerit white from Finland and the Orangeville Flyers. The stayed undefeated in the round robin beating Jokerit 6-1 and having no score against the Flyers 0-0. The two goalies Mike Leach and Nick Bond were on fire only allowing one goal in the entire round robin. They are thankful to their stellar defenseman, Eric Liska, Noah Cameron, Brayden Jorssen, Hayden Carver, Cameron McCleary and Kyle Lefebvre.
They were then on to the playoffs. They faced off with Jokerit blue beating them 7-0 to advance to the semi finals where they would play Silver Seven black. The game ended with a 7-0 win for the white team. They were off to the championship game at Scotia Bank Place where they would play an all too familiar team and one of their biggest competitors, the Gloucester Rangers. The game was not an easy one and kept all the fans and coaches with their hearts in their throats. After fighting off a 6 on 4 play in the last minute and a half in the third period the Silver Seven White were the champs with a score of 3-2. Throughout the entire tournament EVERY forward contributed at least one goal. Not many teams can say that all their forwards are terrific goal scorers. Way to go Cole Fraser, Adam Johnston, Ryan Shaw, Patrick Yates, Matt Musgrave, Jared Coyle, James McAllister, Sam Pare and Alex White.
Team work is how it is done! Way to go Silver Seven White what a great way to start off 2011!
