Coach Burns

Please read Coach Burns' letter

Dear Players and Parents,
My name is Chris Burns, I am excited to be the U11AA Silver Seven coach for the upcoming season. I am bringing over twenty years of coaching experience to the team. Having worked with players at the AAA and JR Hockey levels, I firmly believe in a coaching philosophy that emphasizes all aspects towards skill/player development, character building, teamwork, and fun. When we all focus on these aspects, winning becomes a product of developing.   I understand the commitment required to reach the next level and our season will focus a lot on developing towards it . The goal is not only success on the ice, but also personal growth off the ice.
Here are some key points for the season and tryouts:
1. Tryouts: Expect an intense and competitive tryout process. I encourage all players to give their best and compete for a spot on the team. We are looking for players with a high hockey IQ, drive, and a strong work ethic, a high compete factor both on and off the ice as well as being a good teammate.
2. Commitment: Players and parents should be prepared for 3-4 sessions per week, including games, practices, video sessions. This year U11 is part of the Hockey Canada Pathways program, which opens new opportunities.  Learn more about the Hockey Canada Pathways initiative here.
3. Tournaments: Mark your calendars for the following tournaments:
-  Peterborough Pat Larock: September 20th to 22nd
- Shanahan  (whitby) : November 1st-3rd
-  Vaughan Mills  :  Dec 5th- 8th
- Barrie : Jan31st-Feb 2nd
I look forward to meeting each of you at the rink. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out.   Burnsie1515@hotmail.com
