On Sunday, November 23, the Silver Seven Minor Bantams survived six gruelling games over three days to bring home their third consecutive tournament championship, winning the Waterloo Memorial AA Minor Bantam title. The team went undefeated in round-robin play, beating the host Waterloo Wolves, Clarington Toros, Vaughan Panthers and Orillia Terriers to sweep their division. The semi-finals brought an international battle as the Silver Seven dominated the Mt. Clemens, Michigan Wolves 6-1 to reach the finals. Although played in Waterloo, it was a cross-town final as the Silver Seven held on to defeat the Gloucester Rangers 2-1. During the course of the six victory week-end, the Silver Seven keys to victory were a focus on sound fundamentals and team defence with impressive goaltending, outscoring the opposition 23-6.
