Semi-Final Jokerit VS OVSS Black

Bell Capital Cup and Hosting the Jokerit Blue Team from Helsinki, Finland

 

The Ottawa Valley Silver Seven Black billeted the Jokerit Blue team from Helsinki, Finland for the Bell Cup. The boys from both teams were living together for a week. Of 13 teams in the Minor Pee Wee AA division, the chances of meeting their billets in the playoffs were slim, but they did. Jokerit Blue and OVSS Black met on the International Ice Surface at the Sensplex in the Championship semi-final. The Jokerit Blue team showed that they felt right at home on the big, international ice and skated to victory over OVSS. Despite OVSS Black being heavy hearted with the loss, a special scene of sportsmanship transpired at the end of the game, as the players from the two teams congratulated each other with salutes, high-fives and hugs on-the-ice. 

The Bell Capital Cup experience of hosting the team from Finland was not only about hockey, but about hospitality, friendships and memories to last a lifetime.
