Please Welcome Our U18AA Head Coach 2024-2025

Dear Players and Parents,
My name is Ryan Dawe, and I am very excited to be the head coach of the Silver Seven U18 team for the upcoming 2024-25 hockey season.  Having played at the highest level throughout my minor hockey career and advancing to play four years of junior hockey, I understand the commitment and skill needed to compete at the AAA and Junior levels.  I have a proven record of developing players and providing them with the tools to succeed at the next level.  I look forward to working with this talented group of 2007-2008 players in what will be an exciting hockey season.    
Try-Outs
I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all players born in 2007 and 2008 in the Silver Seven boundary to come and tryout for the team.  Tryouts are scheduled to begin the third week of September.  Please visit the Silver Seven web site (silversevenhockey.com) on a regular basis to check for registration information and tryout details. 
Coaching Philosophy
I am committed to providing a positive and high-energy environment, that will foster growth and maximize the athlete’s potential, both on and off the ice.  In addition to developing a player’s technical skills to compete at the highest level, life skills, teamwork, responsibility, accountability and leadership will be stressed.  Hard work and having a team-first mentality will be two cornerstones of our team. 
Season Plan
With players entering their grade 11 or 12 year, a crucial period in their academic career, the team practice schedule and activities will be mindful of their academic commitments.    
Tournaments
The team will be entering 4 tournaments. 
•             19th Annual Capital Fall Classic (OVSS Home Tournament) – November 1-3
•             Stoney Creek 40th Annual Tournament of Champions – November 21-24
•             Pembroke Regional Silver Stick – November 29 - December 1
•             51st Annual Leo Boivin International (Prescott) – End of March
 
If we win the Regional Silver Stick, we’ll have the opportunity to play in the International Silver Stick Final (Sarnia) – January 17-19
